About the Area
One of the reasons we chose Aspen for our wedding weekend is because of its incredible access to outdoor adventures, and we hope you'll make the most of the stunning surroundings! Check out some of our favorite hiking trails and outdoor activities below.
If you prefer soaking in the mountain views from a more relaxed vantage point, Aspen offers a variety of excellent restaurants, bars, and boutiques. You can also unwind by the hotel pool while enjoying the breathtaking scenery. With its charming, walkable downtown, it’s easy to explore, meet up with other guests, and experience all that Aspen has to offer!
Wellness
Aspen sits at an elevation of 8,000 feet, offering stunning views but also the challenges of higher altitudes. To make the most of your trip and stay safe, here are a few tips to help you adjust to the thinner air in the Rockies.
Stay hydrated! Drinking water is essential in high-altitude conditions, as the dry air and elevation can lead to dehydration faster than you might expect. Be sure to consume about twice the amount of water you’re used to at home.
Pace yourself. Even if you're eager to hit the trails, it's wise to give your body a day to adapt before jumping into intense physical activities. There’s plenty to explore in the lower areas, like Aspen’s charming downtown, where you can enjoy the sights without overexerting yourself.
Protect your skin. At higher elevations, UV exposure is stronger, so pack sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and lip balm to avoid sunburn. If you forget any of these essentials, no worries—local spots like Carl’s Pharmacy or other Aspen shops have everything you’ll need.
Listen to your body. Whether you're walking, hiking or biking, know when to take breaks. If you start to feel fatigued or lightheaded, it's time to rest and enjoy the beautiful surroundings at a slower pace.
